Douglas Rintoul is a British freelance theatre director who has directed for the Barbican, Dundee Rep Theatre, Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, National Theatre Studio, Salisbury Playhouse, The New Wolsey Theatre, Creation, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. He has also been an associate director to Simon McBurney and Deborah Warner.

As associate director Douglas Rintoul is currently touring Complicite's award winning show A Disappearing Number to the US, India and Europe. He will direct Touched (for the very first time), a new play at Trafalgar Studios in January. He also recently received a grant from the Arts Council England and following a month research trip to Eastern Europe earlier this year Douglas is currently developing a new devised dance/theatre performance exploring narratives of migration at the National Theatre Studio with the choreographer Darren Johnston.

Douglas Rintoul has also just been nominated by the Barbican and the National Theatre Studio for an Arts Foundation Fellowship.
